Redesign ‘Typographic Writing’, a publication by the ISTD, and make it more appealing for a broader audience within the design community.
Given the complexity of the content, I made the decision to slow the pace of the book by laying out the first page of every essay with more white space and a bigger point size. I also included quotations that were relevant to each page so the reader could have a general idea of each essay when scanning the book.
The theme is based on Robert Bringhurst’s principle which states that ‘typography exists to honour the content’ & ‘well chosen words deserve well chosen letters’. Being a book about essays on typography, I decided that both the cover & the section dividers would show essays that can be found within the publication.
