The Hispanic society of Falmouth University was formed in August 2017 and needed a brand identity that encapsulated what it means to be Hispanic.
The logo is based on characters of the Spanish alphabet to celebrate the language and cultural heritage that makes Latinos and Spaniards share a ‘common spirit’ as Hispanics.
It resembles a sun and it is made with exclamation marks we use in Spanish (¡!) and a virgulilla (the hat on the ‘ñ’) to represent the warmth and expressiveness associated to Hispanic culture. The colours transmit passion and energy.
I wrote some copy that invited students to join the hispanic society in a casual and friendly tone of voice. It referenced popular culture elements (music, food) to relate to the audience.
